Introducing MODERN FAMILY: Celebrating Connections Through Hair and Heart

Welcome to the world of MODERN FAMILY, a heartfelt hair series created by Debbie, in collaboration with her daughter, Grace (aka. me!). Together, we aim to redefine and celebrate what family means in 2024, showcasing the diverse and beautiful connections that make up our modern families — from blended and chosen to ever-growing tribes like our own. This series will be running throughout the year.

This month, we’re delighted to introduce our first family, our very own: my partner, Jacob Jones, and our son, Spike Jones, who joined us in February this year 👶🏻. Capturing them in the early stages of father and sonhood, this opening chapter serves as a reminder of those new moments in family life. For Jacob (@toomanytoast), fatherhood to him means, “Every little second is now precious”, capturing the essence of modern parenthood, where it’s easy to get lost in the hustle and bustle, but the moments we spend together shape us.
